I think Paradigms, using much more up to date speaker technology, are better sounding than the Advents, more efficient as well. Have any photos, info, stories on your Advent Loudspeakers? Here's a great forum thread on how to identify your Advent Loudspeakers. Double stacked Large Advents in parallel, driven by Kyocera R461 receiver and DA410cx CD player.
The tweeter in the original is a reddish/orange color with a 7/8' dome in the middle and a large. The original Large Advent is most easily recognized by the Masonite wood ring adapting the 10' woofer cone to the 12' frame and an inward facing foam roll edge.

The "Loudspeaker" came in two sizes (these are the large ones), and a couple of cabinet finishes. Perhaps that's why I like my JBL L100 Century, but LOVE my Advents.

I've talked about how I like my receivers to have a little coloration in their sound, but I like my speakers to deliver only what I send them - hypocritical? Maybe.
